Today, we’re excited to share the inspiring story of Erik, also known as Erik618, a trader and family man from the Netherlands who enjoys sharing his knowledge with the community and encourages others to keep learning and growing as traders.
Building a Life of Balance
Outside of trading, Erik runs his own business selling oak tables online. Beyond entrepreneurship, he has a strong DIY spirit.
From building his own smart home (one of the first in the Netherlands to have a smart home) to working side by side with his stepfather on home projects, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for learning through hands-on experiences.
This hands-on mindset carries over into his trading journey, where curiosity and persistence continue to drive his growth.
Erik describes himself as a family man. He wakes up with his daughters, walks the dog, and checks charts in between.
But the road hasn’t always been smooth. Erik and his family went through a difficult time that took an emotional toll on him. There were moments when giving up felt close.
Still, his commitment to growth and to honouring his family’s strength kept him moving forward.
“My goal was to succeed as an educational journey, like graduating. And I think I reached that goal. It’s not about money or status but about learning.”
Despite past challenges, Erik has found a rhythm.
How It All Began: Erik’s Trading Journey
Erik’s trading journey began in 2020. The same year, he joined CC. After a chance encounter on a bus, someone asked him: “Do you know Chart Champions?” Erik didn’t, but he was open to listening. What he heard definitely caught his attention.
When he got home, he and his wife looked up Chart Champions on YouTube. They found a young guy with not many subscribers, which made them hesitant, but something told them to give it a try.
That was the moment they began discovering Chart Champions firsthand and diving into Daniel’s teachings.
He started, like many others, by buying and holding Bitcoin with the mindset of “never selling.” But it soon evolved into a passion for learning. Then, he started to experience leverage trading.
“I started to leverage trade and got liquidated. I was lost and had no idea what I was doing, so I kept learning more and more.”
He faced setbacks, including liquidation during early leverage trades, but each misstep only fuelled his desire to understand the markets better.
The Chart Champions Effect – Education and Inspiration
Chart Champions played a vital role in shaping Erik’s trading style. He describes Daniel as more than a mentor, and he remembers watching the Champion Streams like a favourite Netflix series.
His biggest leap came with Elliott Waves. Although the educational modules weren’t available when he joined, Erik learned through the Champions Streams each Sunday (Now streaming on Monday) and from other valued members.
“The Champion streams were a big turning point. I really enjoyed it.”
Now, with a whole module dedicated to Elliott Waves within the Chart Champions course, Erik has found a solid foundation to master this theory and apply it confidently in his trading.
As a visual learner, the live trading and video lessons perfectly matched his learning style.

Every trader has a secret weapon. In Erik’s case, it’s no surprise how skilled he is with Elliott Waves. From time to time, he shares his EW counts with the community, analysing high and mid-timeframes to shape his long-term trading plan.
What we love seeing in Erik’s work is how the teachings of Chart Champions continue to shine through. His analysis always reflects the core principle: trading is done level by level.

Trading Routine – Calm, Focused, and Consistent
Erik isn’t chasing the charts all day. His routine is simple and effective: monthly chart resets, new Elliott Wave counts, new key levels for the week, and quick checks throughout the day, thanks to a setup in his living room.
He leans into higher timeframe setups and swing trades, so he only trades when an alarm goes off, not out of pressure.
“I focus on higher timeframes, which is Daniel’s style, too. I always call him my master or sensei. He taught me to focus on swings for fewer headaches.”
Even when he isn’t actively taking trades, he stays active in the general chat, helping others identify key levels and strategies.
Due to Bybit regulations in his country, Erik was unable to trade as usual. However, as part of his risk management strategy, he now operates multiple accounts across different trading platforms.
This approach enables him to allocate his capital and also take swing trades on one account while using others to hedge those positions. It’s a smart and structured way to manage risk, especially for a swing trader.
Goals – Trading with Purpose, Living with Balance
Looking ahead, Erik wants to keep things steady.
In 3 to 5 years, he sees himself trading just as he does now: focused on high-timeframe setups, stress-free, and spending more time with his family.
“I want to keep doing what I do now—relaxed, higher timeframe trades, focusing on swings. “
Continuing to learn new trading techniques is also part of Erik’s purpose. It started with Elliott Waves, and soon, he’s looking to master Order Flow with the lessons and guidance from Chart Champions.
“The next step is order flow, and I’m confident I can learn it through what Daniel teaches on the website.”
He hopes to reduce his business responsibilities to two days a week, allowing him to spend the rest of his time living fully.
That is a balanced life that prioritises well-being over pressure.
Advice for New Champions Members
Erik’s advice to new traders is simple and yet powerful:
“40% of my knowledge came from asking questions. Keep asking. Keep tagging people who can help. Ask educational questions, and you’ll learn. Never give up. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel.”
He believes growth comes from curiosity, patience, and taking the time to learn things the right way.
